Greetings
Wow. It’s been a while since I’ve written in this blog. I am pretty sure that I am talking to myself anyway…(I checked the logs. Empty…almost.) but it seems that I have a few friends who have been complaining about the lack of updated content. So, I’ll fill you all (I use that term lightly) in on my life in the last few weeks.

Birthday Drink-Straviganza
Wednesday, April 3rd was my birthday. I turned old. However, almost every one of my New York friends turned out for my birthday extravaganza at my favorite NY pub. Many libations were had. I got smashed. Most of the memories past 11pm are blurry or nonexistent. The summary is like this:

I threw up a few times, in the bathroom of the bar, on the floor of the bar, in the taxi, on the taxi, in my bathroom, and on my bed. I sang Sinatra songs, and “Whiskey Your The Devil” by the Clancy Brothers. I sexually harassed my friends, and fondled a few boobs. I told some lady that she could see my nipples for $5. She refused to pay. I showed her anyway. I shot off 2 full cartirdges of Spider-Man SillyString from my best-gift-ever wrist shooter - Spider-Man web-blaster. Somebody told me that I drank 11 Irish Car-Bombs (3/4 glass of Guinness, 1/2 shot of Jameson topped with 1/2 shot of Baileys, dropped in, and chugged) on top of a number of Irish Whiskey shots (maybe 5 or 6, maybe more). I didn’t eat. Bottom line - mess.

However, it was probably the best time I ever had at my own birthday celebration, and I thank all those in attendance for their generosity, friendship, and patience.

Project
I have been working with this Pratt graduate student and his wife on his thesis. He created some interesting 3D animations, and some interesting soundtracks for each. There are 8 of them so far. He also came up with this idea of randomizing the video order, lengths, and soundtracks, based on increasing levels of disorder. Because he was clever enough to have a sort of rhythm to the animation and sound, they fit together nicely in any order. Overall, it’s turning out to be a nice project. I am doing the Lingo programming and CD-ROM mastering for almost free, but it’s keeping my mind moving. It will make an interesting addition to my portfolio.

Gamekitchen
I met these guys from Gamekitchen.com today. They wrote me back when I told them I loved their game. It turns out that they are really talented, and motivated, and pretty cool. I highly recommend 2 of their projects for your viewing pleasure. First, check out Queue on shockwave.com. They did it. It is addictive and well put together. For anyone tired of hearing how great Blix is, (also see shockwave.com), and it is great, will love queue. Second, and even more exiting is the game they just put up for the kid’s sci-fi show, Galidor. Play the top-view/action/RPG/shockwave-and-flash game on www.galidor.com. I mean it is really quite fantastic.

Speaking of fantastic shockwave apps…I recalled a few great ones when I was with the guys from gamekitchen today. You should check out the funniest movie making application for German Milk ever made at Fjällyoghurt. God that cow is funny. Also, we can’t talk about Shockwave moviemaking without mentioning Absolut Director. Really well done. The text-to-speech component is brilliant. It seems that they have a server component that takes the dialog you type, does a server-based text-to-speech, then download the audio file to the local application. The result is super-funny, and well executed. Also, you should make the greatest move ever, and click on Habbo Hotel to see the best web application ever. I love these guys.

Goodbye for right now
I am going to go out and have some fun. I’ll write again soon. Thanks for reading.
