Macintosh OS X Jaguar Steve

Macintosh OS X Jaguar
Steve Jobs delivered his keynote speech today at the Mac Developer’s Conference, and annouced some super interesting OS X updates due for release this summer. The updated OS X version is codenamed Jaguar, and includes such enhancements as improved networking with Windows computers, hardware accelerated Quartz support, and great little application called iChat. iChat will be the first instant messaging client officially sanctioned for support with AOL IM. Great news. I am so tired of using applications far better and AIM for Iming, and then have their access shut down by AOL. This software will support usernames from both Mac.com, and AIM, and integrate nicely with the operating system, new updated email client, and address book. It will also include Rendevous, a file sharing software integrated with the OS, that sounds fantastic. I urge you to check out the whole article on maccentral.

I am really excited about iChat, and the new mail client address book will likely make me switch from Entourage, which had become entirely cumbersome with no Palm synching support in OS X. Fuck Microsoft anyway…
