Rename “The Two Towers”
…to Something Less Offensive Petition Petition.
I think petitions are one way to express one’s opinion, but there are opinions out there, that are plain, simple, outright – stupid.

I was quite puzzled to see over 3500 people signed the petition, until i read their comments…
They asked Peter Jackson about this before Fellowship came out. His wresponse was there’s nothing in the content that would reflect 9/11 and there’s no way he’s changing the title of a 50 year old book because of current events. Americans are reactionary idiots. Thank god New Zealanders made these movies.
Oh, and Elaine and I saw Two Towers last week at an advance screening. She’s urging me to write a review here but I’m still overwhelmed by it. It’s a MUCH bigger movie than the first and doesn’t slow down. I’ve read some of the other advance reviews and they’re all the same, “This movie is awesome! Let me ruin all the good parts for you!” I need to see it at least two more times before I can think about it objectively.

I don’t like fantasy movies so I probably won’t go see this movie. I didn’t like Lord of the Rings very much. I’m sure it was a good movie, just not my thing. This petition is the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. This is a result of the cult of victimology where everybody finds a greivance to give their meaningless lives some, well, meaning. In defense of Americans, I have to say that most people in this Country would feel this is stupid. Limousine liberals and east coast intelligentia are the most likely culprits here. This is a fucking movie for God’s sake. Who cares? It wouldn’t surprise me if this was started by some kid. Reactionary idiots? I don’t see how that applies here, but I do agree with the fact that this petition is the height of stupidity and socialism taken too far.
