iPod revisited

I seriously haven’t been in the mood to type anything for weeks now. But this iPod thing has gotten better and better. Most of my complaints have been addressed in this new version of the iPod, but the original descriptions didn’t focus on them. So, great news, the iPod does some things we didn’t know […]

tuckermax

This guy, Tucker Max, is my hero. He put up this site, on a dare and a bet, and has been doing well with it. He’s funny and he’s an egomaniac and he thought of a great idea - put up a website where chikcs can apply to get a date with him. Genious. You […]

more nerd fun

Let’s see Todd Levin is in a full on web beef with Christian Finnegan. Both guys are pretty great, pretty funny writers, though I am a long time tremble.com fan, so I’ll side with Levin, for now. Finnegan started the online brawl without provocation, and we’ll see where it goes. His first post, the one […]

Kermit sells out

In 2000, a German company called EM.TV bought the Jim Henson company. They started losing money immediately. Last year they sold the Sesame Street characters to Children’s Television Workshop. Meaning that Cookie Monster and Gonzo are now owned by two totally separate companies.
Then the bidding war happened. Sad thing was, the bidding war […]

This is an article from the NY Times. Ali G is a new show on HBO. Check it out:

A dignified diplomat with a deep fear […]

bio?

They forced me to create a “bio” at work this week. It is supposed to be included in certain new business presentations and other client materials. I was reluctant to even do it. It feels like bragging. It feels ridiculous. I also had to take a picture for the same purpose. Also ridiculous.
They asked for […]

I am not dead after all!!

I am seriously not dead. I have been a terrible blogger though. It’s been over two weeks without a post by anyone. It’s been months without new pixel art. I have been feeling very unmotivated and preoccupied with a number of personal issues. I am sorry for sucking up my own site.
For those of you […]

IA

I’ve got a good friend, Florian, who’s a designer here in NYC. He’s German. He’s grouchy. But he’s a rock star designer. Most of his work is fantastic. A few years back, he put together the site for the International Herald Tribune. You must see this. I still use it as the best example of […]

folding paper

The Origami Museum is fantastic, with step-by-step instructions for folding paper into beautiful frogs and swans and boats and hats. I was almost able to make the swan…but then I was forced to crumple it into a ball. Now it is an origami boulder. It’s pretty nice.

pixel practice

I haven’t made a pixel person in a long time. I felt I needed to practice a bit, especially because I might be doing some paid for work really soon. As it turned out, Conan the Barbarian, one of my all-time favorite movies, was on late last night and provided all the inspiration I needed. […]
