Let’s all thank Mark Evanier’s blog for this. Here’s every cover of mad magazine ever published. What facsinates me is that it’s been published since 1952 and has only released 433 issues. This book has NEVER been monthly. Worth a look if just to see what movies we were into.
Coincindentally, my good friend’s dad is Angelo Torres, who’s been working at Mad for thirty years and is is a heck of a nice guy (both father and son). I wonder how much of his work is presented on the covers?
call me anti-american, but I have never really liked Mad Magazine. I guess maybe the only thing I have ever thought was worth anything was some of the celebrity charactatures. You know, the actual art… I have never really thought the writing was all that funny or clever… Am I wrong? Am I a Communist?
