My good friend Ed sent me this great story tonight about a guy, way back in 1984, who memorized all the patterns on the Press Your Luck game show. (in my humble opinion, one of the best game shows EVER - especially because of the rarely seen, but ultra-rad breakdancing whammy - Mike S. will remember…) Anyway, I barely remember something in the news about this guy. He was able to play the show for about an hour straight without hitting a whammy, because he knew the exact pattern, and every next item in every next box. HE COULDN’T LOSE. He wound up walking away with $110,000. It was a whole controversy. Read this story to learn more the details and see some funny pictures. The guy was a freak. He dies in 1999 penniless and running from the police. Dope.

Yeah - heard about this in the 80’s the guy won more money on a gameshow than anyone else up to that point.

Fantastic. I love that he had 40 grand in one-dollar bills at his house. He probably kept it in its own room and jumped in it like a big leaf pile.
I believe I was watching E true hollywood stories and this was the topic of the entire show. This guy knew the sequence for all the big money. They actually had a simulation board and had someone else try to do what he did. This guy lived, ate, and breathed Press Your Luck.
On a different note, how fucking dumb was Card Sharks?
