I am getting dressed right now.I haven’t slept yet tonight. I took off from work today, just to get ready. In a few hours I will leave for the sickest trip I have ever embarked upon. A 4 day wedding in Key West. My good friends Heath and Cynthia are getting married. But somehow, I feel like the one who is getting the gift.
At 10am we fly to Ft. Lauderdale, after our 6am breakfast. Tonight is the bachelor party in South Beach, Miami. I don;t even want to know. Tomorrow morning we will recover, and drive 2 hours to Key West, to a small beach hotel on Isla Verde (I think). We will have a luau (sp?) of some sort. Friday we will fish, and then have a fish luau Friday night. In between, we will be passed out at the pool. All day Saturday will be the actual wedding. Sunday morning, if I survive the rest, we’ll be driving back to Miami to fly back to NY. Sunday night will be the Soprano’s season finale. There is almost no chance that I will survive this. I am actually scared.
Last weekend I went to Miami for another wedding. It was incredible. Carrie and Pete were married on the beautiful peninsula of Key Biscaine, in the Ritz Carlton hotel. It was gorgeous. I have pictures. The only dark spot on an otherwise perfect weekend was the sun poisoning I got while on the beach on Saturday. Seriously. Got blisters and everything. Red like a lobster. That has never happened to me before. It sucked. I am still peeling today, though the red has turned to brown, and now I have a basecoat with which I will survive this weekend. That, plus 24 sunblock or something.
OK, I have to go. Off to the Coffee Shop in Union Square to meet the boys for breakfast before the flight. Coffee and pot cookies. No shit, at 6am. It’s gonna be crazy. Pray for me.

You bastard. Here I am on the verge of suicide because I have my certifiable and semi-disabled 84 yr-old grandmother staying with me until Saturday and now I read this… Have a nice time, ass…
Dude,
Those photos confirm a closely held belief of mine— weddings can be dangerous.
Hope everything else is going well.
