Holy shit. I don’t know if this is real, but my sister emailed me this picture tonight. I nearly shit myself. I am here, at home, in my livingroom, actually frightened, even though there is no water in sight.
It’s a shark alright. I had my doubts at first, too, until I did some research. Dolphin dorsal fins are quite hooked like the one we see here, which leads many to assume they’re seeing a shark at first glance but what sets them apart is that dolphin tail fins are horizontal for their up/down tail motion for speed, while sharks have vertical tail fins for side-to-side swim motion.
If you look closely at the image you can see a vertical tail fin, meaning…
Okay. Well, never one to miss a chance to admit I’m wrong… I was wrong. Further research brought up the photographer’s website (http://www.kurtjones.com/main.htm) and the photograph clearly states “dolphin/surfer”.
It is widely debated whether this is a shark or a dolphin…
I’m convinced it’s the latter. You see dolphins playing in the surf like this quite often.
Having said that, it’s a monster of a dolphin and I still would have shit in my wetsuit if I were that guy.

SHARK!
You may resume peeing yourself.

Just thought I’d share what I found.
either way, if i ever see that when i’m surfing, i’ll cry.
It’s a load of malarkey.
Gee, really?
I think that’s the Killer Dolphin with Rabies from, “One Crazy Summer” Or it could be the fuzzy bunnies…
