Bush? Kerry? Fucked? Us?
I am too tired. I can’t last any longer. It looks as if Bush will win the election. Ohio will be the state we fight about this time, but it doesn’t sound like there are not going to be the same legal issues as 2000. Even though the networks called Ohio for Bush already, I think it is going to be really close. I imagine Kerry is going to hold out his concession for a long time. People are of course screaming for all the votes to be counted, and I agree. But at some point, the math just isn’t there. It’s getting close to that.
As far I am concerned, we all lose no matter who wins. The whole country is divided still, 50/50, and we in for more of the same partisan politics for the next 4 years. It doesn’t matter who wins. I am frankly sick of it all. This whole system of electoral votes and partisan wars, and deception and corruption and special interests is simply ready for a complete overhaul.
Sure, I wanted Bush to win, but just barely. I do support him on the war on terror, and economic policy, despite what you all will tell me about lies and conspiracies, and everything else. At the end of the day, I think we should be in Iraq, whether or not we are doing the best job possible, and whether or not there is a good exit strategy. In addition, I have never trusted Kerry. I think his record has shown, time and time again, that he changes his position based on political pressure. That is the worst kind of leadership and I can’t support him. But IT DOESN’T MATTER!!!
We’re fucked either way. Jon Stewart is about the only guy left still making sense on this whole planet. That’s pretty scary.
Well, congratulations Mr. President, whichever you are.
(Also, congratulations to Barak Obama who defeated Alan Keyes in a landslide. We all knew he would win, but not like this. Great job.)

I give this country three years.
The world hates us, we hate each other and we’re hemorraging money. We’re looking at a Soviet Union ending to this country. I don’t know whether to look at jobs in Totornto or gun catalogs. Things are going to get worse.
Even Cheney said someone going to plant a suitcase bomb in one of our cities. I hope it’s on the N train. Under my fucking seat.
On the plus side, Nader gave his concession speech today. (Whew!)
Honestly, how stupid can the people in this country get? God, gays, guns… ah, go fuck yourselves. Have some more TV dinners, keep getting fatter and dumber, and watching Fox News and reading tabloid rags for your political information, and let’s just just run this ship right into the rocks.
Iceberg, right ahead!
..and Kerry would have made such a fucking difference. He would have sat back like that asshole Clinton did and watched as they bombed the WTC.They failed to destroy it the first time, only to get second chance and succeed in killing 2000 people many of whom i knew. Fuck Hanoi Kerry!!!!!! I dont agree with all that Bush stands for, but you live in this country and you’re stuck with him for another 4 years. Deal with it or move!!!!!
wow, there are a LOT of exlamation points on this comment thread. And Hanoi Kerry? What the hell…? never mind. There’s no point in arguing this crap on a blog’s comment thread. Here’s an idea: instead of moving out of the country (which everyone who says they will really won’t) or bitch and moan why don’t we GET INVOLVED? Join Move On or the ACLU. Just do stuff and make a difference, even if it’s just a small one in your neighborhood.
No, you don’t deal with it or move. That’s exactly the black-and-white Bushspeak that has us where we are today. I can’t imagine better incentive than this for smart, thinking people to enact change for the better. But it’s going to be a loooonnng four years, either way.
Check out my man from Oklahoma (who just got elected to the Senate:

Is it too late to let the South secede?
Seriously…is Kerry a change for the better?
Seriously…would Kerry have been a change for the better? List the ways..please.
why even bother listing the ways? to have a flame war? stop being a divider!
That’s the scary thing. Ohio decided Bush will make them safer, but who the fuck would ever bomb Ohio? NY voted 80% for Kerry.
But it’s the economy that’s going to destroy this country. And with Bush running a war that costs a billion daollars a week while making tax cuts and privatizing social security, you’re going tos ee this country fall faster than you caould have imagined. And the rest of the world will be fine watching it happen.
Mike,
You won the election - calm yourself. Let those of us who lost gripe in peace.
Theres nothing we can do to change the outcome - but I can bitch an moan like a baby. So leave me alone - I need to complain or I’ll end up stabbing someone.
“I just pray the terrorists pick a Republican target next. Bomb the living shit out of the Midwest (please feel free) but for fuck’s sake leave California and NY alone.”
Thats really an intelligent comment..nice real nice…not all Republicans believe in what Bush stands for. Im totally against his views as far as abortion and stem cell research. Bush isnt reason that this country is falling apart. Its been going down the tubes since the mid to late 90’s. Bush inheritied a country on a downfall. Granted, he hasnt done much to improve it but its still your country. You live here, respect it. Respect those kids fighting for our country abroad. Dont fight against it. Theres nothing “we” the people can do to change whats going on at this point. Dont wish death on people in other parts of this country because they dont agree with your point of view. Not everyone agrees with whats going on, but its life…deal with it.
If you voted for Bush because you believe we’ll be safer under him, then you’re not in any position to comment on my intelligence.
Your more than welcome in Toronto but there arent the huge jobs you think there are here. I’ve been on my ass getting total crap offers for 3 months
These are some of the GREATEST posts I’ve ever read. I’m a big fan of Jon’s “Even Cheney said someone going to plant a suitcase bomb in one of our cities. I hope it’s on the N train. Under my fucking seat.” and Rob’s “Iceberg, right ahead!”
Keep ‘em coming boys!
I should also apologize to the midwest. I didn’t mean that bit about the bombing.
I’m just not crazy about you making decisions about our national security. After all, I don’t make decisions about farming that could result in your family getting bombed or gassed.
And come on, NASCAR is kinda silly. Throws a couple of right-hand turns in there for pete’s sake.
I don’t know what’s more interesting right now, The Daily Show repeat I am kinda watching or reading these blogs?
Everyone is overlooking the real issue here, which of the girls in the blog below is hotter? That poor post only has two posts. Chris took all that time to make it nice-a-nice and here we are arguing politics on a BLOG!
Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.
Long live the beer bong!
First off, i didnt intentionally attack Andrew. I dont know the guy from a hole in the wall. Im a hothead myself and i was just defending some of us “Republicans”. I too apologize for my tirade. We’re not all like what Andrew described, and i was just defending myself. Andrew, we wont die (hopefully)..i feel the same way as you do when it comes to getting bombed. I sometimes think why us? Why NY, but we choose to live in the best city in the world. It pretty easy to get away with stuff here because theres so much going on.
Politics just brings out the asshole in all of us.
i actually think it brought out the mother theresa in me. now go drool over scantily clad girls, boys. i’m going to find something important to do.
I have sincerely lost faith in the intelligence that 51% of voters have in this country.
