star wars revelations
Quietly released, from a small independent production company, Panic Struck Productions, the 40 minute fan film (I guess you can call it that) Star Wars Revelations is hitting the web by storm. Many of you probably haven’t heard about it yet, but you will. It’s really quite good.
Here’s the deal. It’s a small story about a Jedi seer (a Jedi who can see the future) who is on a mission to reclaim a small disk which is basically a NOC list (If you’ve seen Mission Impossible you’ll know what that is) of all the names and locations of all the remaining Jedi in the galaxy. She has seen that they will all die if she does nothing. So she joins up with some other Jedi, and kicks ass, and tries to get the disk back. There are some decent lightsaber fights, and excellent, excellent space battles. The bottom line is that it is VERY well-written, well directed, with great special effects. The acting kind of blows, and the green-screening effects and lighting make it look a little more amateur than it should. But overall, it is well-worth the download and the 40 minutes. Frankly, it is better than Episode 1, even though that’s not saying very much.
It’s 40 minutes long, over a 250MB .MOV file, so you pretty much have to leave it downloading overnight. I used BitTorrent, which is probably your best bet. Here’s the torrent file. It’s available right from Panic Struck, but their site has been hosed up with traffic for days. If you need another source, just google around, and you’ll find it.
I find your lack of faith disturbing. You think some cheesey fan film is better than The Phantom Menace ???? Don’t make me destroy you. “hitting the web by storm. Many of you probably haven’t heard about it yet, but you will.” What a joke. You’re as clumsey as you are stupid.
Geez. It’s a fan film based on a wacky, sci-fi melodrama. Lighten up. Don’t make me point you to the animated .gif of the “pelvis-thrusting” stormtrooper.
Oh, and as far as Revelations goes, the effects are really quite good.
Hey, Matt… Why don’t you do everyone a favor and SHUT THE FUCK UP. The Phantom Menace sucked big piles of chunky ass… It’s the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked… if you don’t agree (which you don’t), then you suck, too… and you do.
The Phaton Menace did suck. But not as much as this ‘movie’. Horrible dialog, horrible acting, grade C special effects and the 3 leading females were ugly as sin to boot. I give it a D, not worth your time and effort.
