15 minute blog with ruby on rails

Last week during a development conference in Brazil, David Heinemeier Hansson (Loud Thinking), one of the lead developers of Ruby on Rails and partner at 37signals (Basecamp, Backpack, Ta-Da), gave a live presentation where he built a rudimentary weblog content management system using Ruby on Rails in 15 minutes. You read that right. He built a blog engine from scratch using this great new development language and environment, live, in front of an audience, in 15 minutes.

Here is a link to a video of the on-screen presentation along with the voice over audio.

Be warned, this is for nerds and developers only, but it is incredible. Dreamhost, my web hosting company, recently announced that are adding support for Ruby on Rails. Dreamhost really rocks. I am pretty psyched to play around with it a bit.
