pump audio

My good friend and blog poster/commenter on this site, Rob, owns a company with a handful of other music enthusiasts called Pump Audio. Rob can do a better job of explaining it so feel free to ask him, but basically they are a promotional music label - they sign bands to non-exclusive marketing deals, with 50/50 profit sharing, and then sell the music for commercials, movie trailers, TV shows, etc. It’s a fantastic deal for the artists, especially new, non-established ones. They get 50% of the selling price, and they get their music out there, sometimes, in a very big way. For advertisers and TV producers, the music is affordable, high quality, and searchable by an enormous number of attributes from genres to lyrics.

For a change, it’s a company trying hard not to fuck over its artists. If you are a musician, advertiser, or TV/movie producer, you really should check this out. Oh yeah, and Rob just recently redesigned the whole site and it looks great.

Hey… thanks for the post. Just to clarify, though… we sign license agreements with artists, not marketing agreements. So we’re essentially agents who go out and place independent music with production clients. The idea is that our artists can still go out and get a record deal and do whatever else it is they want to do with their music, and hopefully earn money through licensing at the same time.

Just had to say that Pump Audio is the best! They are very true to their artists and true to their word as well. I am a highly satisfied artist who has been fortunate enough to do licensing with them.

Kepp up the great work Rob!

I am independent producer of television shows for some networks. I have to say the best music that I have used were pumpaudio.com and premiertracks.com Both have great indie artists. They both are very reasonable in price too :)
