dubai museum
I finally got around to walking down to the Dubai Museum this past weekend. It was pretty great, except maybe for the weirdo mannequins. You’ll see what I mean when you check out the photos I took on Flickr. (Sorry, but even with megaproxy, I can’t easily organize my photos, tag them properly, or sort them into sets.)
Anyway, I live near the Bastakiya neighborhood where the museum is located. It’s actually inside the Al Fahedi Fort, one of the oldest building in Dubai, dating back to 1787. It’s a pretty impressive structure, in start contrast to all the new skyscrapers just across the creek. It’s also only about 5 minutes walk from my apartment.
The museum itself is pretty small, but packed pretty tightly with artifacts. Definitely worth an afternoon visit.
