superman in dubai
So, although most of the rest of the world has already seen Superman Returns, Dubai doesn’t have it yet. But we will. In just a few days it will open here. So, as you can imagine, the marketing machine is running fast and furiously. One of the local newspapers, 7DAYS, ran this Daily Planet insert, 4 page “newspaper” the day before yesterday. Pretty cool advert, which I assume was used around the world and in the states.
Ooo, what’s that in the lower-right hand corner? A bird? A plane? An Israeli bomber? Might not be Superman flying over Beirut on July 15th… You would think somebody would have caught this before the print run.
Well, as if that wasn’t retarded enough. A small editors note in today’s 7DAYS epitomizes everything that can go wrong when the modern world collides this quickly with the traditional world…

The movie is worth seeing. It’s very good without ever really being great. I write a review on my blog last week.
I saw it finally last night at the AMC Lincoln Center Theatre IMAX 3D style and it was even better than “Batman Begins” – not the story mind you but the experience. I agree w/ Jon that the movie was good, not great, but as IMAX will turn an average movie into a great one, since this movie was good to start with last night officially rocked. I wish every movie came out in an IMAX version…
