In a few hours I’ll be off to Jordan for a long weekend of pretending to be Indiana Jones. The main destination of the trip is Petra, 2000 year old city carved into the red rock mountains of southern Jordan. Here’s a really beautiful Quicktime VR of the Treasury, the spot where Indi and his dad find the Holy Grail in The Last Crusade. I don’t think I’ll have such luck, but I may visit the place of Jesus’ baptism and pretend to care…

There are already tons of pictures of Petra on Flickr, but my plan is to make some nice new ones, maybe even some in HDR. We’ll see. My camera (and a GPS) is about the only things I’m bringing on the trip.

I’ll be with some good friends from Dubai, most of us traveling together for the first time. Wish us luck. The next time you’ll hear from me will be with some new photos.
