hoops & yoyo
hoops & yoyo are two Shockwave Flash animated characters created by the devils over at Hallmark (who profit from selling cards and gifts for EVERY tragedy known to man). I don’t know who is responsible for hoops & yoyo (apparently some dude named ‘Bob’), but man, this shit is genius.
Apparently, they’ve been around for a long time, as checking out the rest of ‘their’ site (Hallmark has designated an entire section to them) reveals past animations of holidays and e-cards and such. Just all around cuteness everywhere. It’s the easily recognizable high-pitched squeaky voice scheme you get from animations on sites like Rathergood.com. The dialogue is pretty great for a commercially driven site, and the animation is simple and clean.
The opening animation you see when you first visit their site pretty much sets the tone.
I haven’t sent an e-card in about a year that WASN’T Hoops and Yoyo. I love those little bastards. You are a little late to the party but thanks for joining.
