nature photos

Just completely by chance, I received or stumbled upon a bunch of crazy nature photos today. I thought I’d share the best ones.
This first one comes from an email from my friend Jay. It’s a scan from “Africa Geographic” from 2005. Check out this madness. If I were in the canoe, basically the photo would […]

elsewhere

In 2001 a skinny, nerdy, curly haired white boy took the stage at a yearly dance event called Kollaboration. He followed a fairly averagely talented asian kid on stage who had a done a pretty good job of working the crowd. David Bernal nervously got started on his routine. He shuffled around a bit, pumped […]

let’s take pictures

Let’s Take Pictures is a collaborative, worldwide photo collection put together in the most incredible Flash portfolio I have ever seen. It works so well and looks so beautiful. I rarely say that kind of thing, especially about Flash, but this site is near-perfect. I absolutely love it. I wish my photos were this good […]

Nam Hyun Joon

Nam Hyun Joon (aka Poppin’ Hyun Joon) is a dancin’, poppin’, body-rockin’ Korean maniac. This video is just one of many the proves he is fantastic.

I never like Offspring before.
While writing this post, I thought I would link back to another post I wrote about a brilliant “popper” called David Elsewhere. But, as has happened […]

avatars

Avatars, the little digital representations of our likenesses, iconic, stylized, sometime clever, sometimes uncanny.
I love my Nintendo Wii, but I have never written about it yet. I suppose I have grandiose plans for a massive post about how it is the future of gaming even though it has the weakest hardware of the next-gen consoles. […]

amazon-gone-wild

For a while there my old TiVo Series 2 thought I was gay. Despite a preponderance of war movies, skinemax, late night cop dramas, somehow, TiVo “got the wrong idea.” It took months of unnaturally testosterone-heavy action flick recording to convince him otherwise.
A few years ago, when Amazon.com’s recommendation engine wasn’t nearly as sophisticated as […]

my first watercolor

I never painted before as you’ll soon see. Here’s my first watercolor. I did it a few months ago on a pice of cardboard from the dry cleaners. Long story.

Thanks for the watercolors Li. I’m still to scared to paint in the book you made me.

expressive robots

From an old notebook…

I love robots. I own the URL technoslovakia.com because I was going to make a website For Robots, By Robots and FrBr doesn’t make that much sense.

electrocution

Washing machine is acting up again. My arm and hand are literally still tingling from the electrocution I just had. Whoa! What a way to wake up in the morning. I may keep it like this…
or go downstairs and kill somebody.

human tetris

Everybody keeps sending me this link telling me they can’t stop laughing. I’m sure you’ve all seen it by now, but this Japanese gameshow requires people to contort themselves into Tetris-like shapes in order to avoid physical injury. It rarely works out, but it is absolutely brilliant to watch. I love Japanese gameshows.

drunk animals

I’ve never written “drunk animals” before and not meant hot drunken girls at a party somewhere. But in this case, I am actually talking about animals who have eaten fermenting marula fruit and gotten a good buzz on. This video is hilarious. I once saw my father act like the giraffe.

in a van down by the river

Are you fucking shitting me!?

This girl looks exactly like Chris Farley. Come on!!

Did you know that there are transcripts for most SNL skits online? Here’s the one for the Matt Foley sketch above.

1-18-08

It’s not called “Bad Robot.” That’s just the name of JJ Abrams production company that also produces Lost and Alias. The trailer is showing before Transformers in the US and is incredible, but there is no title, only a date: Jan 18 2008. Rumors have it that there are many clues hidden around the internet […]

Mr. Xishun shakes hands with Mr. Ping Ping

The world’s tallest man, recently married, met with the world’s shortest man in Inner Mongolia the other day. Priceless photo ops ensued. This might be one of my favorite events in history.

I take that back. This is my favorite event in history.

the deerhunter

I got this in my inbox the other day from my good friend Sally in Melbourne. From the email:
This picture was taken by a KTBS helicopter flying over Lake Wiess about 90 miles north of Birmingham, Alabama That has to be a HUGE gator to have a whole deer in its mouth! Are you ready […]

wii fit

I thought it was awesome until I watched this video.

p.s. I LOVE my wii and if you don’t have one, you should. Even my dad is going to love this thing when I bring it home. It is the single best innovation there has ever been in gaming, period. One round of wii tennis and […]

dogfight for zune

Here’s a pretty great animated advertisement for Microsoft’s Zune (that’s a music player thing) called “Dogfight”. It was done by a company called FullTank. (Here’s interview with them about the Zune Arts Films.)

I wish it was an ad for a new game on XBox because I would buy it tomorrow. Nice work.

webcrash 2007

If the entire internet crashed today, this would surely be the newscast. Too fucking funny. The Onion is really kicking it up a notch with their video news network, ONN. Please watch this:

jessica the hippo

I give up. This is the cutest thing of all time. This family adopted baby hippo, Jessica, when she was washed up in a flood at only 1 day old. She is 7 now, and completely tame, door-openingly intelligent, and the friendliest deadliest animal I’ve ever seen. It’s hard to believe, but amazing to watch. […]

parking like Mad Max

I park in a back sandlot behind the office building everyday as does everyone else in company who is not “manager” level. Since I am only a consultant, I can’t park in the executive parking facility. So, I park with the bottom of the barrel retards. (No offense.) In this “parking lot” there is completely […]
