sony bunnies
Sony’s latest Bravia TV ad, you know, from the Color Like No Other campaign, is stunning, as always. (Nothing will ever be quite as good as the Balls ad here, and here on YouTube.) In this one, hundreds of colorful claymation bunnies hop around Manhattan. Is this another contender for ad of the year? The YouTube version is the easiest to watch. Enjoy.
If you’re wondering how they did it, well basically they had 70 animators and tons of clay, and they literally did it right out there in the middle of the city. Extraordinary piece of work. There’s some more info in the teaser video, also here on YouTube. Some fine stills here on NotCot.

I thought the animation was computer generated (didn’t realize the ‘hopping’ was done with sticks later removed in post).
I can’t believe they did that by hand.
Holy shit, I can’t believe that did that shit by hand.
‘…and one 30ft giant bunny.’
Fuck yeah.
they.
eh. Good song.
Christ that is good. And while they certainly paid less than the $12 million Microsoft forked over to use “Start Me Up” for Windows, I’d bet that was a pretty hefty licensing fee for that track. Had to be well into seven figures, I’d think.
Either way, simply amazing spot.
