dragon vs. jesus lizard
The armadillo girdled lizard [Cordylus cataphractus] of South Africa looks like it’s straight out of Dungeons & Dragons. I would not be surprised if it breathes fire. This is now my favorite lizard, fire or no fire, even more favorite than that one lizard that runs across the top of water.
On second thought, the Jesus Lizard, the basilisk lizard that runs on water, is still probably my favorite. (Rumor has it that this little guy is also indigenous to Costa Rica. Don’t worry, I’m on the case.
