dominicalito

Hola.
Things are starting to shape up quite nicely here in Dominical. I have found a place to live more permanently than Tortilla Flats in town. It´s a small studio apartment overlooking the beach of Dominicalito (a smaller bay-beach right next to Dominical) about a mile walk from town. It´s only $300/month and the only real […]

Jessica Delfino gives some great advice in this song about how to get famous. I think it is genius.

colombia photos, finally, sort-of

I have been complete shit at post-processing, tagging, and organizing my photos in the last few months. I have tons of stuff from India, Musandam Oman, Beirut, Colombia, and now Costa Rica. I spent all day today working on the Colombia stuff and uploaded over a hundred decent images to this set.

One major problem […]

india photos and a false alarm

I organized and tagged all the photos from last year’s Kerala, India trip and uploaded to Flickr. Turns out that yesterday’s broken image scare was a strange problem with either Costa Rica, the ISP, or this internet cafe causing nearly 50% of everyone’s photos to show up as broken images for me. Looks like all […]

update from Costa Rica, and photos

Everything is good here. I’ve been staying in a house right on the beach in Playa Guapile, about 6km north of Dominical. A friend of friends rented it until the middle of the month, but went home last week and gave it to me for free. The house is huge, but very basic. I’ve got […]

dolphin watching in oman

The last trip I took before leaving Dubai was a roadtrip up to Mussandam, Oman with some good friends. We went a traditional dhow-type boat and chased dolphins in the morning until reaching our snorkeling destination. It was a fantastic weekend. Here are some of the pics.

[thanks to Hind, Will, Noora, Khalid, and Rabie for […]

the hulk, remade

Trailers can be deceiving. I don’t know about this one. I really don’t. But man do I hope it is good. If Edward Norton can’t save The Incredible Hulk, who can?

wall-e full trailer

It is entirely possible that Pixar has done it again and made the best movie of all time. The latest trailer for Wall-E is absolutely incredible. I cannot wait for this beautiful robotic love story.

girls on a bus

There are 7 girls in a bus.
Each girl has 7 backpacks.
In each backpack, there are 7 big cats.
For every big cat there are 7 little cats.
Question: How many legs are there in the bus?
This is a real math problem so don’t say that a bus has no legs. And there is no driver.
The answer will […]

minor update

Hey everyone. It’s been a little busy around here so I haven’t had too much internet cafe time. Oh how I miss wifi at home.
A lot has happened since last we left off. Today was the end of my first week of near full-time Spanish studies at Adventure Education Center in Dominical. 9am - 1:30pm […]

wine label

I really, really hate it when something I’ve been talking about but have been too lazy to properly design comes to market. For years I have been droning on about how dumb it is that wine bottle labels don’t have a little tear-off part that has all the relevant details of the wine on it. […]

echo the teenager

This blind teenager uses echo location to rollerblade, pillow fight, avoid obstacles, play videogames, and beat the reporter in foosball. Absolutely incredible.

Actually, the most amazing part of the video is that his mother’s name is Aquanetta. Seriously.
