You must watch this amazing video of a skyscraper in Japan being demolished one floor at a time from the bottom up, seriously. This technique causes much less damage and cleanup to the surrounding area, enables easier reuse and recycling of the building materials, and I think actually costs less. Check this out.

    Wow I actually saw this on TV when I was in Japan. A week later and now the internet is abuzz with this seemingly new news.
