capoeira vs. right hook
I have to admit I’ve always thought the acrobatic, Brazilian martial art of Capoeira was beautiful but not very practical. We’ve never seen a Capoeira master in the UFC for example, and I don’t think we ever will. Case in point, this guy. He appears to be a very talented practitioner and he is certainly acrobatic, athletic, and intimidation.
But as you can see, it’s not all that practical. This is seriously one of my all-time favorite things I’ve ever watched.
[thanks rob.]

This is from a B Movie called “Never Back Down”. It was completely staged.
Hey dude hope all is cool?
I say your clip and it’s from a movie called Never Back Down, you can see the trailer here where there is a bit of the fight that you posted;

While the clip is fictional i’m with you on the arts seeming lack of practical application or how it seems impractical. Maybe a master would be able to prove us otherwise but I dont see one of these guys kicking GSP’s ass do you!?
Later mate,
Scott.
I wish I never read this comment. That movie looks like complete trash.
The movie IS complete trash.
It’s ‘The Karate Kid’ with MMA.
And not even good MMA.
I fully expected ‘You’re the best’ to fade in during the last fight scene.
“Sweep the leg…”
guys capoeira is very practical and i bet u guys dont even practice it thats why you say wat u say or may be its not practical there in europe or the usa but come down to africa were we have street bouts and then u see capoeira in action. very practical especially its evasive skills. can you kick a broke bottle, rusted metal or mahogany wood from ones hand and dis is wat u see in street bouts here and to get thru wit dis u have to be very evasive. capoeira has worked for me and it will always work. peace
