wall-e robot featurette

I thought I couldn’t be more excited about Disney/Pixar’s upcoming Wall-e. Then I watched this short featurette about the various designs and personalities of the cast of robots. Holy shit. I can’t wait.

Every nerd bone in my body is tingling.

MUTO, graffiti animation

This short animation, MUTO, by artist BLU is just incredible. It was actually made by painting on walls in public spaces and then covering and repainting, like a billion times. Brilliant work.

[thanks derek.]

lost generation?

Have a look at this little sequence called Lost Generation. It’s a little sappy, but pretty good nonetheless.

[thanks jay.]

merry christmas from dungeons & dragons

This animated short from fortaxreasons made me laugh out loud. 3 Dungeons & Dragons nerds are cast as the 3 wise men in a nativity scene and all hell ensues. If you ever played D&D you’ll understand why this is great. If not, well, then I guess this might not be funny for you.

Reminded me […]

Long story short, after much digital detective-ry, I found the animator, Chuck Gamble, who personally delivered a VHS copy of the animation to me, […]

the miscombobulation of lauryn hill

Where has the young, beautiful and talented Miss Lauryn Hill gone?
I didn’t write about it at the time, but a few months ago Lauryn Hill played here in Dubai and I had the unique pain of attending the concert. After several hours of delay due to throat illness or soreness or something, she came out […]

sony bunnies

Sony’s latest Bravia TV ad, you know, from the Color Like No Other campaign, is stunning, as always. (Nothing will ever be quite as good as the Balls ad here, and here on YouTube.) In this one, hundreds of colorful claymation bunnies hop around Manhattan. Is this another contender for ad of the year? The […]

a gentlemen’s duel

Here’s another brilliant animated short from Blur Studio called A Gentlemen’s Duel. You might remember the fanastic Rockfish I posted about ages ago. Trust me on this one. It starts off kind of shitty even though the animation is great, but then it takes a turn for the fantastic. Well work your downloading time.

A gentlemen's […]

dogfight for zune

Here’s a pretty great animated advertisement for Microsoft’s Zune (that’s a music player thing) called “Dogfight”. It was done by a company called FullTank. (Here’s interview with them about the Zune Arts Films.)

I wish it was an ad for a new game on XBox because I would buy it tomorrow. Nice work.
