my first watercolor

I never painted before as you’ll soon see. Here’s my first watercolor. I did it a few months ago on a pice of cardboard from the dry cleaners. Long story.

Thanks for the watercolors Li. I’m still to scared to paint in the book you made me.

avatars

Avatars, the little digital representations of our likenesses, iconic, stylized, sometime clever, sometimes uncanny.
I love my Nintendo Wii, but I have never written about it yet. I suppose I have grandiose plans for a massive post about how it is the future of gaming even though it has the weakest hardware of the next-gen consoles. […]

hoops & yoyo

hoops & yoyo are two Shockwave Flash animated characters created by the devils over at Hallmark (who profit from selling cards and gifts for EVERY tragedy known to man). I don’t know who is responsible for hoops & yoyo (apparently some dude named ‘Bob’), but man, this shit is genius.
Apparently, they’ve been around for […]

how to: eat the penis off of a chocolate jesus and not look gay

Admittedly it is very difficult to eat a chocolate penis and not look gay. It is even harder to eat a chocolate penis right off of a 6 foot tall statue of man made of chocolate. Imagine how complicated it gets when that man is Jesus, and it is Easter Sunday. I know you’re thinking, […]

laser cut skateboard decks

Refill magazine is curating an exhibit of beautifully designed and laser cut skateboard decks at a Sydney’s MTV Gallery. They’ve got a Flickr set up with a bunch of picts.

Absolutely stunning. I’d be proud to hang one of these on my wall.

EVERYONE linked to this video this week, and I am reluctantly jumping on the bandwagon. It’s just that this idea and this video are so fucking cool, it’s impossible not to want to build one of these yourself. The Graffiti Research Lab is responsible for a huge number of really clever, high tech methods of […]

Vik Muniz, my favorite contemporary artist will be showing at Moma’s Long Island City PS1 museum from February 11 through May 7. Many of you know PS1 from its summertime art raves, outdoor swimming pools, DJs and beer, but it looks like they also have great shows in the winter.
For those of you who don’t […]

this is not a photo

This is not a photo. Seriously.

It is a digital painting. See how it was done. Amazing, amazing work.

laundry, cardboard, watercolors, skype

When I get my dry-cleaning/washing done, the place where I send it, Champion Cleaners, overdoes it a bit. First of all, they pick up and deliver the damn clothes. It can’t get any better than that. But, the only options for t-shirts is “folded” or “hung” and, for Dubai, it is not cheap. There is […]

wooden mirror

I am sure I posted this years ago, but I can’t seem to find the entry. I recently re-found the original website after talking about it with a friend. This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

Daniel Rozin’s mechanical “mirror” is made up of 830 small tiles of wood, each on its […]

Canon 30D Timelapse.

A blatant self-plug for a short clip I made using a Canon 30D and a timelapse controller.

1week of art works

Oh man. This is awesome. For one week, these people recorded the same wall being painted over and over again with beautiful graphics. It is truly stunning artwork and fascinating to watch the transformations.

This is a must-watch.
