thank you

Let me just take a quick second to thank everyone for their attendance, compliments, love, and support last night at my official going away party. It is the biggest compliment in the world for a huge group of my friends from different parts of my life to get together and get along and dance and […]

Goodbye to my first love, pork (you are all invited)

Well, the time is finally here for me to move on. When I say “move on”, I really mean MOVE ON. I have quit my job and am moving to Dubai in the UAE in 2 weeks (in case you haven’t already heard). I’ll be there from 6 months to a year working on the […]

Dubai NY

Until a few weeks ago, all I knew about Dubai was the Palm Islands (that I saw constructed on the Discovery Channel) and the Burj Al Arab hotel where Agassi and Federrer played tennis. I knew that the city was nearly brand new, chocked full of oil money, and that’s about it.
Now, things are very […]

where the fuck is chris diclerico

For anyone who has been wondering, updating, or checking in, I am sorry. My life has been a little insane for the past few weeks, and this blog has been a low priority unfortunately. It looks like things are getting bette though, and I may have more time. I am hoping so…
It doesn’t help that […]

upgrading to Wordpress 2.0

I am a little worried about this upgrade. I am about to shut down all the plugins and do the install. Everything might be fucked for a while. Please be patient. Wish me luck.
UPDATE: Wordpress 2.0 is now up and running, but as you might be able to notice, a bunch of shit is broken. […]

Halloween Debacle IV, Mardi Gras style

As usual, I debated until the last minute whether or not I would have this party. Thanks to the dozen phone calls from old friends asking when it was, I decided to keep the wilding tradition alive.
So, I bring you “Halloween Debacle IV, Mardi Gras style”.
That’s right, in the wake of the destruction of the […]

minor changes around here

I’m up super-late on a Saturday night playing Shadow of the Colussus, and updating this website. Shadow has received critical acclaim, and as it turns out, deserves every word of it. It is truly awe-inspiring.
As for this site, well, I cleaned a few things up in the various sidebars (capitalization, link presentation, etc.), removed pagination […]

lazy

I have to admit that I’ve been intellectually lazy with this website for too long. My linkblogging is fun and all, and certainly easier for me than writing anything of substance about politics or hurricanes or technology or science, but there is way more that I’d like to talk about but never seem to find […]

Plogit

This software on my Treo 650 is called plogit, and I won’t lie to you, it has some problems. Its pretty buggy, has not categories, crashes my phone sometimes, and doesn’t REALLY support Wordpress. BUT, when it works, it is pretty great to post right from the phone.

dreamhost down but not out

Yesterday afternoon, chrisdiclerico.com went down completely for a few hours, along with every other one of the 60,000 sites hosted by Dreamhost, and Dreamhost.com itself, due to the LA blackouts, which might seem unusual given all of their “backup generators” but apparently it was quite a debacle out there in LA. Dreamhost has been blogging […]

paused

Sorry. Shit’s crazy. I haven’t had any time to write at all. I’ve barely been surfing. Between watching the news, working my ass off, and enjoying my Labor Day weekend, I’ve not had any time for this website. I am headed to Cincinnati tomorrow (today) and coming back Thursday. I’ll have plenty of stuff to […]
