I KNOW this makes me gay. Don’t bother telling me. The 10th anniversary edition of Tickle Me Elmo, aptly named “T.M.X. Tickle Me Elmo,” is absolutely hilarious. I predict this will be another riot-inspiring Christmas sellout. I want one. I am going to buy one for everyone I know. I love him. Any you will […]
That’s right. Will and I are among the very first handful of people in Dubai with working iPhones. After confirming from the only guy we knew with an iPhone that the anySIM unlocker was working with an Etisalat SIM card, we made my sister buy us two US-spec 8GB models and FedEx them immediately. 2 […]
I rarely comment on this blog about new Apple product announcements. There are hundreds of sites that do it better than I could, and even though I geek out about this stuff, I don’t find it all that interesting to write about.
This morning, US pacific time was another Apple “special event” dubbed “The Beat Goes […]
I’ve had a crazy couple of weeks, this last one especially, and blogging has suffered. I usually make myself drafts in GMail of things I want to blog about, but I haven’t had a chance to go back for over a month. I just found this from Feb 12.
I’ve been making little sketches to myself […]

I bought a MacBook Pro about three weeks ago.
I haven’t had any major issues with it (none close to what I’ve been reading, anyway), and I’ve been quite happy with it so far.
I’ve been reading a lot about the MacBook Pro and everyone’s complaints about heat/noise/etc., keeping a good eye on the developments.
I love […]
These hand-built, Japanese, Rube Goldberg-esque machines accomplish nothing in the most extraordinary ways. Reminds me of the incredible Honda Cog ad we talked about three years ago. This video is a must watch.
It’s a little pricey at $469, but this handmade wooden clock is imported from Japan, and uses LEDs through a thin layer of wood to get this effect. I LOVE it! (This tube lamp is pretty sweet also.)
Clay Wiedemann, “senior analyst” at frog design, NY has a new regular feature on Gizmodo called, “frog Design Mind.” This week he discussed the secondary market of good design, the use and re-use of a product, beyond its intended purpose - like the Altoids tin. He’s right, the DIY culture is a new big deal. […]
