firefox extensions

I have really been getting into this Firefox thing. I’ve been using it for a while, but my recent discovery of Tab X opened up this new world of extensions to me. I have always known there were some useful ones out there, but I never really looked for anything for myself. Well, I have […]

tab x

Almost a year ago, I switched completely to Firefox for all my web browsing needs. There was a time when I used Safari on OS X and Firefox on PC, but I like Firefox so much, especially the new G4 optimized 1.5, that I have switched completely. Both Safari and Firefox offer tabbed browsing, which […]

flock

If you don’t already know about it, Flock is a pretty brilliant new web browser, based on Mozilla (so it should be as fast, accurate, and stable as Firefox), with many Web 2.0-style features built right in. Bookmarks are completely integrated with del.icio.us, and a blogging interface is built right in, meaning starting a new […]

2 + 2 = GMail

I LOVE GMail and use it as my ONLY email client now, except for work email where I am forced to use Outlook. I forward all my email from my old Yahoo account and my domain accounts ([at]chrisdiclerico.com) directly to GMail. I love some of the unique features, like conversation organization, fast searching, and labels […]

writeboard

I just mentioned it quickly in the previous article, by 37 Signals just launched their collaborative, web-based text editor, Writeboard, that plays well with the rest of their fine applications. Another fine addition to their suite of beautiful Web 2.0 applications.

Web 2.0

Caution: This article is for people who care about web development, advertising, publishing, and design. All others will probably find it too long, too boring, and too nerdy to be worth their time.

huge acquisition day

eBay (you know, online auctions) is buying Skype (PC-based voice over IP (VoIP) for $2.6 billion (up to $4.1 billion is Skype continues exceeding certain perfomance milestones) half cash/half stock, catapulting eBay into a market that few people thought they were right for. Will we have to bid for price per minute? Hmmm.
Rumors suggest eBay […]

Microsoft simplifying your Windows choices

Microsoft, in yet another example of marketing genius, will be releasing the next version of Windows, Windows Vista (formerly Longhorn) with seven, yes seven (7), separate editions. You heard that right. In order to “personalize” and allow you to choose the version that’s “right for you”, you will need to figure out which of these […]

another reason to NOT use IE

I got this from my friend Matt tonight. Not good for all you Internet Explorer users. Switch to Firefox right away!
**Please pay close attention to this email since your online security is at risk:**
If you’ve ever copied a PIN, password, or other sensitive information to your Windows clipboard, it’s fairly simple for a web site […]

google talk

There is has been MUCH talk over the last few months and weeks about whether or not Google is launching its own Instant Messaging client. Recently, many folk have theorized that Google would adopt the Jabber IM protocol as the standard. I didn’t care very much either way, but still am guessing that their IM […]
