jenga deconstruction

You must watch this amazing video of a skyscraper in Japan being demolished one floor at a time from the bottom up, seriously. This technique causes much less damage and cleanup to the surrounding area, enables easier reuse and recycling of the building materials, and I think actually costs less. Check this out.

ebay and paypal suck ass

Ebay and Paypal are complete fuckwits. Useless pieces of shit. No wonder their business is crumbling. I can’t wait for these ancient remnants of a the web long past to be gone forever. They should have collapsed with the rest of the first .com bubble bursting, but somehow survived, unchanged, for all these years. Garbage.
Simple […]

finally, a real jetpack

This guy spent a hell of a lot of time and effort developing carbon fiber wings with jet engines attached. His goal is to fly horizontally for long distances after jumping from a plane. Technically this is not a jetpack that takes you from the ground of your backyard to the roof of your office […]

polaroid’s future

Polaroid has made no secret of the fact that they are planning to stop producing Polaroid film in favor of embracing their new digital future. Much like Kodak, they are betting that digital is the only future of photography. Of course, nothing will ever look quite as a good as a real Polaroid picture, but […]

jetpacks

I spent the weekend in Mussandam, Oman last week making jokes about the only way to get to Mall of the Emirates without complete and total aggravation would be by jetpack. We even went so far as to start a company with a board of directors to develop said jetpack and make it all happen. […]

google calculator

Everyone should know by now that you can use a Google search to do math calculations. Simply type an equation into the search box such as “4 * 4″, hit “Google Search”, and the resulting page shows the result: 16.

internet access gone to complete shit in dubai

Fucking Etisalat monopoly bullshit. I am so fucking tired of this motherfucking place.
So as you know Skype and Flickr, two very important sites to my internet well-being, have been blocked for months and months. Add to that a host of other random sites that would just make me rather happier, plus 90% of the bittorrent […]

Did You Know?

An interesting video on Youtube about statistics and predictions around the world that you may or may not be aware of.
Such as:
- In the year 2023, it will only take a $1000 computer to exceed the capabilities of the human brain.
- The number of text messages sent everyday exceeds the population of the entire planet.

laser graffiti

EVERYONE linked to this video this week, and I am reluctantly jumping on the bandwagon. It’s just that this idea and this video are so fucking cool, it’s impossible not to want to build one of these yourself. The Graffiti Research Lab is responsible for a huge number of really clever, high tech methods of […]

ghetto blaster

Lasonic unveiled their modern day Ghetto Blaster at CES this week, and it is about fucking time. I have been wondering where the old skool boombox went, and why it went away. This is too cool, and I want one.

shocking truth

I recently purchased a brand-spanking-new Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro. This is my third Apple laptop in about 6 years. My last Aluminum Powerbook G4 was a workhorse, but my patience wore out after the Airport card went and Apple people told me the logic board needed to be replaced to get wireless working again. […]
